After a mild period earlier in the week the weather changed quickly. Yesterday we had freezing rain in the morning followed by rain and 33 degrees. by evening it began to change to snow. During the early morning hours today it fell at rates of 1-2" per hour.
The plows were still not out but that didn't matter for the Hakka R2 tire . We got 11" of heavy wet snow by the time it was over.
I had the day off but couldn't resist going for a ride. My family was here with their chevy cruze equipt with Nokian WRG3 tires. After moving cars around to snowblow my dad was testing out the tire's .When he came back he said how impressed he was with the tires. They haven't had them long but it continues to reassure him of his purchase.
Late We went for a ride down the road in the Jetta rolling on R2's . I was pushing snow in areas and it was heavy with ice under the snow. I was in full control and the traction was limited however, it was more then enough to navigate the northwoods roads.
I can't write enough good about them, I'll let the pics speak for themselves.
Till next time keep your tires on the ice and the firewood burning !!
