This week we FINALLY got some winter weather! I was so happy to be able to try the tires out in anything but rain! While we were getting our usual dosage of monsoon, the temps dropped from 50-something degrees to below freezing in 2-3 hours. This left us covered in quite a bit of ice.
On the first outing, I noticed that my neighborhood streets were covered in thick ice with just a dusting of snow. We went the neighborhood with absolutely zero slipping or sliding. The tires provided excellent traction. Later that day we swapped the Subbie for the Mini Cooper and we slipped and skidded all the way to the entrance. I have NEVER seen such a massive difference in the way two vehicles handle in winter weather.
I will be ordering a set of Nokian WRG3's for the Mini!
