This past week has been rough on the roads. We were out of the office for two days due to winter weather conditions. Power was out across most of the city as it was at my home. Good thing it wasn't too cold. The temperature actually got up to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The unfortunate thing about that was the effect on travel. The roads where a combination of unplowed snow, snow pack, slush and patches of ice. Just a day before the storms I had a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 tires installed on my truck. I was replacing a set of Cooper studded mud/snow tires and was eager to see an improvement. The first thing I realized was that my new Hakkapeliitta tires were not as confident in deep snow as the Cooper tires were, though I suppose the Hakka's were not meant to be. Once I was out on Ice and snow packed roads the difference was clear. The increased traction was noticeable. Big increase in safety with these tires on my truck. I am looking forward getting some distance out of these tires.
