I hate tire boogers

As much as I love my Nokian winter tires and the safety they provide, I hate a side effect of having them: tire boggers.

For lack of a better word, tire boogers are the nasty ice, salt, snow, and dirt chunks that accumulate behind the wheels of the car in winter. I try to kick them off every time I park the car.

I hate how they fall off in the garage and melt leaving salty dirty water all over. I use a squeegee to get rid of them as much as I can. Once I push them into the driveway, I shovel them onto the lawn. But because they are mostly road salt, I have to spread them out so they don’t kill the grass in the spring. It ends up looking shitty on the nice white snow.

But if having tire boogers means my family is safe, then it is well worth the hassle.
